Waffles, pancakes and French toast in Magog
Craving a sweet breakfast in Magog? At Oeufs et Crêpe, 1747 Rue Sherbrooke, the menu has 8 waffles, 9 pancake stacks and 9 French toasts, from $14.95 to $19.95, served every day from 6 am on weekdays and 7 am on weekends, until 3 pm.
All of them are topped with fresh fruit — strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, banana — with crème anglaise, chocolate, house-made strawberry coulis or our house-made pistachio crème. Real maple syrup is $2 extra.
Waffles
Our golden, crisp waffles are garnished with fresh fruit and served with coffee or tea. The Oreo waffle ($19.25) comes with strawberries, banana, chocolate and crushed Oreo cookies; kids order it, adults steal bites. For something fruitier, try the mountain of fresh fruit with crème anglaise ($17.50), L’Exceptionnelle with four fruits ($19.95) or the Aux Pistaches waffle with house-made pistachio crème ($19.95). A plain waffle is $14.95.
Pancakes
Three pancakes garnished with fresh fruit, with your choice of crème anglaise, chocolate or strawberry coulis, plus coffee or tea: plain ($15.95), strawberry, strawberry-banana, banana-chocolate, blueberry or raspberry ($17.95), L’Exceptionnelle or Oreo ($18.95). The Aux Pistaches pancakes ($19.95) come as a stack of two, with strawberries, banana and pistachio crème.
French toast
French toast — pain doré in Québec — is a breakfast classic. Plain ($14.95) or raisin ($15.95), as a Trio de pain doré with a mountain of fresh fruit and crème anglaise ($16.95), or topped with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, banana and chocolate-hazelnut ($17.75 to $18.95). French toast is also one of the bases for our eggs Benedict, if you want both.
Sweet and savoury on one plate
Can’t choose? The Coco Gaufre and Coco Pain Doré ($18.95) serve a half waffle or French toast with fruit alongside two eggs, a meat and home fries, and the Coco Béné pairs a half waffle with one eggs Benedict. All our combos are on the brunch in Magog page. For kids 12 and under, the kids’ menu ($10.95) offers French toast, a crêpe, a waffle or a pancake with fresh fruit or chocolate, plus a small juice or milk.
Toppings and extras
Every waffle, pancake stack and French toast can be dressed up: extra crème anglaise, chocolate or strawberry coulis ($2.95), real maple syrup ($2), or a side of bacon or sausage ($3.95) if you want some salt with the sweet. Smoothies made with fresh fruit ($7.95) and freshly squeezed orange juice ($5.50) go well with all of them.
“Good food. Plenty of fruits on a nicely designed plate. Service was a bit overloaded as this place was booming the whole time we were there but we still got our food promptly.”
